Household without toxins - 8 tips for health- and environment-conscious women

At Endoblog, we pride ourselves on the fact that our work also serves values such as health and environmental awareness, and with that in mind, I've created today's post with 8 simple yet effective tips on how to avoid chemicals in your home, and luckily, you don't have to sacrifice spotless cleanliness!

Living with a chronic disease - such as endometriosis - we often start a complete lifestyle change, dieting, exercising, eating organic food, but we don't realise that we are rinsing, washing and washing up as before. In the process of creating cleanliness, we accumulate incredible amounts of rubbish and work with hazardous substances. It takes neither more time, nor more money, nor more energy to run a healthy and environmentally conscious household.

Green Household Starter Pack
Ingredients:
  1. vinegar
  2. lemon
  3. essential oils (lavender, tea tree...)
  4. baking soda
In the bathroom:
  • Use a water and vinegar combo to clean the bath, tiles and taps. Spray it on the surface to be cleaned, leave for a quarter of an hour, then rub it in with a sponge.
  • Sprinkle baking soda around the rim of the toilet bowl, add tea tree essential oil for additional disinfection and rinse with the water and vinegar mixture!

In the living room:
  • You can also use vinegar to clean windows. Fill an empty squirt bottle with a decilitre of 10% vinegar, add the same amount of water and you have an effective window cleaning fluid!
  • The easiest way to wash is to dissolve two tablespoons of baking soda in a bucket of hot water. Add tea tree or lavender essential oil.
  • Place a lavender bag in your wardrobes for a clean, fresh smell and to protect against moths!

In the kitchen:
  • To clean out your fridge, start by mixing half and half vinegar and water and scrubbing the fridge thoroughly. Finally, put in an open can of baking soda, or if you prefer, a few drops of citrus essential oil!

  • Drain cleaning isn't too bad, but you'll need to get some citric acid. Mix a spoonful with a spoonful of bicarbonate of soda, sprinkle half of the powder down the drain, let it sit for a few minutes, then add a little water and repeat the process, leaving the other half of the mixture in the drain overnight. Wash it very thoroughly in the morning with hot water!

  • To clean the sink tray and hob, sprinkle the surface with baking soda, scrub thoroughly and wipe clean. You can use an old toothbrush to do the same for the edges. It's a bit of a hassle but the end result will make up for it!

It's as simple as that. We will continue soon!Until then, enjoy your experiment! If you have any ideas or practices you'd like to share with us, feel free to email us at contact@endoblog.hu!
