Women's yoga for endos

In this week's Motivator, I encourage you to get moving, get moving for your health. From time to time, I will introduce you to some women's yoga practices that are specifically good for those living with endometriosis. It's up to you to practice, so go for it:-)

Now I would like to treat you to a simple harmonizing asana that stimulates ovarian function. Starting position is Japanese sitting, i.e. sit on your heels. Your seat should be comfortable and stable, stretch your head upwards, straighten your posture. Keep your shoulders and neck relaxed. Breathe in this position, close your eyes, let go of your thoughts and focus inward on yourself.

Then clench both palms into fists and place them in your lap just below your hipbone. Slowly lean forward, letting the weight of your body press your fist against your lower abdomen. Breathe in and out with even, deep abdominal breaths for at least eight counts, then slowly straighten back to the starting position, almost vertebra by vertebra. Feel free to do this exercise every day.

Cheers!
