Endometriosis around the world: Pécs

I spent last week in Pécs.

Although I didn't come here for the most cheerful of reasons, this city embraces you and helps you to take in the beauty, the sights, the heavenly food, the friendly, cheerful people...

You might be spending some time here in the near future, so I've put together a list of endometriosis diet friendly places in the city that I've visited with my two dogs.

Breakfast is usually served in the Juice&Co- We went to a cosy little terrace on Széchenyi Square. Delicious smoothies, smoothies, breakfast bowls, avocado cream sandwiches and delicious herbal milk coffee - it was a great way to start the day! And you didn't have to go far for lunch, just across the street at LYR.

The absolute and all-time favourite is LYR Coffee and Food.

Everything is here, a true paradise for a vegan! There's a daily special, a daily menu and a la carte dining. My favourite is the Buddha bowl with fresh salad, sweet potato, spicy hummus, I have to be honest, I asked for it every time for three days in a row - yes, I am a man of habit, but once it is that good! Followed up with a delicious vegan Snickers bar for dessert, a huge glass of Pink Cloud lemonade and I'm full of energy until the evening!

The staff here are kind and helpful, they know their endometriosis diet and even love dogs:-)

Now I haven't had the chance to try it personally, but in response to my Facebook help-wanted post, many of you have mentioned the Lezser Bar is, who are on the corner of Király utca and Széchenyi tér.

A Ciao Bella Confectionery super location, right next to the National Theatre, here I recommend you to try the fruit smoothies, especially the cantaloupe!

We saw a lot of places with vegan food signs while walking around, so you won't have any problems in Pécs following any diet and knowing where and what to eat.

The best sport in this city is walking, because it's so beautiful that it's worth running your legs to see every nook and cranny! The road certainly leads uphill a lot of the time, so cardio will definitely be in order. I've noticed that the drivers are patient and considerate, everyone brakes, stops, lets me through, and I've had a positive experience on my runs.

Relax-advice: one of my favourite paintings is Csontváry's Lonely Cedar. I was actually the only visitor to the museum when I was there, so I just sat in front of it and admired it for an hour... it was a fantastic experience.

If Pécs, then Pécs Gloves... I have always admired Gábor Marcsi's work, the way he saved a fantastic profession and brand in impossible circumstances. The museum is a real Pécs have-to.

Family off switch: Pécs Zoo, of course, with its palm-footed giant white tiger with huge paws and the cute, extremely communicative parrot. Not far from the zoo is the Kikelet Pension a terrace with a wonderful view, where the quinoa salad is the only vegan dish I've never tried because the quinoa always ran out, but the staff here made such a delicious grilled vegetable salad instead that I went there next time, even though it's not on the menu...

Pécs is a true love, I'm sure I'll be back soon.
