Endometriosis around the world - Berlin, Germany

We visited Belin for New Year's Eve this year, a relatively last-minute destination, and although it didn't turn out to be a love affair, I would definitely recommend it for a few days. Especially as it's completely hassle-free to follow a plant-based diet even when you're unprepared.

You can eat practically anywhere, even if you are on an endometriosis diet. As a vegan, it was also easy for me, I didn't have to look for a vegan restaurant specifically, because there were plant-based options everywhere in general restaurants, and I don't mean the usual green salad, grilled vegetables combo. In the usual places that are available in our area like Starbucks, Costa there are many more vegan versions available, super choice, Costa even has vegan "black" croissants.

When we went out to eat, we tried these places, which I am happy to recommend:

Secret Garden Vegan Sushi

I gave sushi another try, I didn't like it before when I was a vegetarian, I thought maybe vegan sushi would... well, no, it still doesn't, but that's not the restaurant's fault. If you can wait a long time - a very long time - for your food, and you like sushi, go for it!

Full & Happy - My favourite of all, it's a lovely place to have a delicious breakfast, brunch or lunch. It's not a vegan place, some dishes are organic, so you can go with a large group, everyone is guaranteed to enjoy themselves. The staff here are very willing to help you choose and are happy to explain which homemade cheeses are made how. I suggest you try their homemade cashew cheese platter!

Panama

We had our New Year's Eve dinner in this modern, youthful restaurant. They call themselves not just a restaurant, but a Contemporary Food Lab, and the "culinary director" is Sophia Rudolf, a young woman who really does combine a spicy Asian twist with European flavours in an amazing way. I loved every single dish on the degustation menu- they didn't have a separate vegan menu, they adapted the plain vegetarian menu for me and did a fantastic job. If you are in Berlin, Panama is definitely a haveto!

We were disappointed with the bar at our hotel, so we clicked over to the burger and cocktail place next door- totally adhoc, but what a good thing we did!

Peter Pane

This place is inviting from the outside with its charming decor with lots of lanterns and caves. It's not a vegan place at all, but I couldn't have a word to say, with a choice of five plant-based burgers, gluten-free and even burger-free versions. The burger-free version is very clever, they arrange vegan 'meat patties' and salad and fresh veggies for you in a buci form - it's just like eating a burger, but without the bread.

I won't tell you much about the attractions, we've seen the must-sees.

What I liked about Reistag was that I didn't know how environmentally friendly its construction and design was, I was surprised by the dome's potential for such a use - I won't describe what I'm talking about so you might be surprised when you go there. .-) We went to the Brandenburg Gate on New Year's Eve, there were concerts and huge crowds, multiply the amount of firecrackers and fireworks in Hungary by ten and square it up, and you can probably imagine - so much for being environmentally conscious:-)

More naturally, we walked along the wall, visited the monument to the east-west division of the city at A Friedrichstrasse 43-45, the Checkpoint Charlie-and the museum on the site of the former border crossing. Berlin is cool, the city itself hasn't become a love, I'll remember the food and how incredibly easy it was to be vegan here.
