Endometriosis diet recipe: homemade hummus

Today, we're going to help you prepare another delicious, quick and healthy meal, and every vegan, vegan, active mental and physical worker should eat chickpeas at least twice a week, because they are a great source of protein, among many other good qualities.

How to make hummus at home:
Ingredients:
  • 200 g dry chickpeas
  • 100 g sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of ground Roman cumin
  • 1 Himalayan salt, ground black pepper
  • 1.2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • About 1.5 dl of olive oil - I recommend extra virgin olive oil
Preparation:

Soak the chickpeas overnight to soften them. Start cooking in the morning in a heatproof dish. Meanwhile, in a dry pan, toast the sesame seeds and stir-fry over a medium heat, stirring, until just a light bun colour. Watch closely if it browns, it won't be delicious! Put it in a chopper with the oil and make a viscously thick cream.

This is sesame paste, also known as tahini. Drain the fully cooked chickpeas and put them in the chopper with the tahini. Season, adding the Roman cumin, garlic, pepper, lemon juice, salt and finally the remaining cooking juices and oil. Puree until smooth. Add the cooking stock in several batches until it turns into a nice light brown cream.

This hummus is healthy, the perfect protein substitute for vegans, and delicious too. You can tweak the final result afterwards, adjusting the proportions of salt, spice and lemon if you like.

Cheers!
