Introducing myself
I am Nóra Árvai, the author of Endoblog.hu, the creator of the EndoStop SisterHood community.

At Endoblog.hu, I help women struggling with women's illnesses and fertility difficulties to maintain their self-esteem, improve their quality of life, address problems in their personal life, work and relationships, balance and create a positive vision for the future.

My endometriosis story
It's no secret, I've been down the warpath with this disease myself. I have a relatively "typical" history of endometriosis, except perhaps that it started with a 16 cm piece of tissue "accidentally, despite the greatest care" left in after childbirth. As it happens, after many doctors, much pain, much looking stupid, many negative blood test and ultrasound results, few real dedication and human words, I finally diagnosed myself and found a specialist through a friend. Hungarian health care and its cesspools...
After many surgeries, many recurrences, many hormonal treatments, many hopes, many disappointments, after all the alternative therapies in the world, I finally found myself back in a hospital bed, this time not with endometriosis, but with a cerebral thrombosis caused by two contraceptive pills taken on the advice of a doctor, after many surgeries and heavy bleeding, at the age of twenty-something. I knew I had to find my own way out of this condition. I knew I didn't want to have my ovaries removed and I also knew I didn't want to put my life at risk, I didn't want to be a guinea pig exposed to hormones any more. I could no longer accept medical treatments because of my condition. No more surgery, no more hormone drugs.
Lying in a hospital bed after a consequential brain thrombosis, experiencing probably the worst of it all, I made a decision. I realised that no one but me could solve the situation. I remember I got up from the bed with great difficulty, walked to the window, looked out...the sun was shining, the birds were chirping. The sun was warming my face through the dirty windowpanes. There and then I made a decision: I would wait for no more. No more surgery, no more medicine, no more illness. I will manage on my own. There I stood, frail, pale, gaunt, one arm clutching my IV bag awkwardly, a pitiful sight. But inside, for the first time, I felt a strength I'd never felt before. At first I just whispered, then I shouted to the sparrow on the other side of the bottle: that's enough, it's over! I will be cured. And so I did.
I celebrate two birthdays every year. One, in September, is the day I was born, but there is another...the day I decided to get well. It is the day of my rebirth. I stick to the March celebrations because I vowed that even if my memories of my illness began to fade, there would be one day each year that would always remind me of what I had experienced and learned. That's why it's a particularly special holiday for me, even if I'm getting older every year:-)
I was determined to be the young, healthy woman I was again and NOT GIVE ENDOMETRIOSIS THE OPPORTUNITY to ruin my new life, which I saw as a second chance. Since then I have taken great care of myself both physically and mentally.I have developed a lifestyle and outlook on life that has required great change and hard work, but I can say with confidence that it has been worth it. Slowly and gradually the symptoms have gone, I've been fine for a long time, and now I only go to the gynaecologist once a year for my annual cancer screening. Every year my doctor and I get together, we are happy that I only get stomach aches from laughing, because we both remember that it wasn't always like this. I wish that this feeling of going to the gynaecologist without fear, of being happy, of being able to make a good splash, could be experienced by everyone. With commitment, passion and drive for my profession, I now stand alongside thousands of women as a helper, so that no one ever has to go through this alone again, and so that everyone who is affected and in the depths of their being knows: there is a way out, it will get better, and everything can be done!

My goals
My aim is that women affected by chronic diseases should not be alone, but should form a community, dare to talk and to talk!
My aim is to make our voices heard, to have a diagnosis available, not to have to wait years, going from doctor to doctor!
My aim is to bring together medicine, modern psychology, molecular genetics and the sciences in a way that they are mutually reinforcing, not seen as enemies!
My aim is for women affected to finally be aware of the scientific explanations for the pathology and to have a credible place to get the real facts about endometriosis.
My aim is to enable you to make responsible decisions about your own body without being influenced and with full knowledge of all the options!
My goal is that women dare to trust themselves and their bodies, to be able to relate to themselves with love and acceptance!
My goal is to use my experience both as a professional and as a woman recovering from endometriosis to help women with chronic illnesses. My goal is to give women confidence in themselves!

A few words before booking:
At the moment, consultations are online and we've come to really like the convenience of that, so it will stay that way after covid. For afternoon/evening appointments, it's worth thinking about and booking in advance because you have to wait, and I know exactly how hard it is to wait when you could use help quickly. Before booking your consultation, I recommend reading through the EndoStop SisterHood materials, these are both immediately available and will save you a lot of time and money if you have the basic knowledge before you come in for your consultation. I welcome you with great love and respect!
